The first Slovak and Czech Art & Music Festival - Art Beat Fest 2008 is organized by TSM LONDON
(www.tsmlondon.com) an international student and travel agency based in London, established in 2004 as the first Slovak professional and educational agency in UK.

London is one of the greatest cosmopolitan cities with cultures from all around the world. One of the aims of the festival is to connect the Slovak and Czech neighbours. And through art, music and a good spirit help those who are the most in need.
Art Beat Fest is a unique cultural event, representing Slovak and Czech art, music, culture and traditions in
Great Britain and at the same time contributing to a deepening of a relationship between British public, Slovak and Czech community.
The combination
of art, dance, music and striking performances will make this festival a real attraction and an unforgettable weekend spent with your friends.

In cooperation with the SUSCIPIO Foundation, the first day of the festival we will be exhibiting pieces of modern and traditional art, which will also be available for purchase. The foundation together with a director of the art agency Ad Astra Musica, Andrea Dudasova (www.dudasova.sk),  will initiate a financial gathering to support completion works of a first maternity home and kernels for guide dogs for blind or visually impaired in Slovakia.

‘The Art Beat Exhibition intends to bring together a selection of works from the younger generation of Slovak and Czech artists, some of which now live in London. Despite their different styles and approaches in their artistic practices, they all spent their childhood in Czechoslovakia and share what might be called a post-communist experience. This exhibition in London provides exciting insight into the young Slovak and Czech art scene and highlights the range of media in which the artists work including paintings, photography, digital arts and objects ’ Lenka Drgova, a curator of the exhibition.

Later in the day a workshop of Laci Strike, a famous Slovak dancer with his dance group Street Dance Academy and the show of Misionáři played by the Prádelna theatre will keep you entertained. The Saturday evening will culminate in the style of a big party with an evening dance show hosted by DJ Pigg.

On Sunday the climax of the festival will be a mega concert with famous names such as Zuzana Smatanova (SK), Anna K(CZ), Gladiator(SK), Mnaga&Zdorp(CZ), Misha(SK), Tatabojs(CZ), Hex(SK), and a european elite DJ Milan Krajčí 105kg with a formation Cocodrillz. The concert will be hosted by Olga Záblacká and Johny Peťko, the favourite couple of Slovak presenters; you will be kept entertained by a striking performance of Laci Strike and his SDA. Thanks to a popular show of Slovak commercial TV Markiza ‘On the roof‘ and a singer Olga Zablacka, all of us, in month of love, will be able to recall legendary songs from a Czechoslovak cult move ‘ Fountain for Zuzana’.

The takings will be donated to communities for chosen charitable projects in UK, Slovakia and Czech Republic.
